(Even if you haven't been **doing** any woodworking, surely you've been **thinking** about it...) :)

Hey Eric,

I am in the same boat you are. Only I am in Central Asia. I left my tools in the States and brought what I thought would be a survival kit. My problem seems to be that I can't find my honing compound for my strop. I found a couple planes at a flea market here. They are Soviet made woodies. Sharpening for me has always been the bane of woodworking. I have procrastinated on dulling the edges that I have, because I know that I won't be able to get the honed edge back.

I liked the Lego table. Just make sure bottom of the storage box is strong enough to support your kids. I came in one day to find my boys seriously sagging out the bottom of the table I had built for them as they were sitting in the table sorting Legos.

Hey -- good mini-project!

A little sad, to have caught up to your current post... no more backlog. But, I guess I'm now reading about your here-and-now projects...

BTW -- some semi-relevant old blog entries of mine: http://gyegreene.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

(e.g. pics of my washer/drier "workbench")
